The Joint Accident Prevention Committee works to improve safety in the port community.
The committee suggests that the corner pins of chassis be painted a different color. The contrast in color would help RTG operators land containers on the chassis, improving safety for both the longshore workers and truckers, as well as assisting truck turn-times.
The Joint Accident Prevention Committee is a group of port stakeholders who meet monthly to review accidents/incidents that occur in the port industrial area and develop preventative measures to help avoid similar accidents to improve safety.
